Steven O. Aydelott, alumni of the School of Architecture at Auburn University, has a comprehensive understanding of how design and construction should merge together. With 25+ years of experience, Steve Aydelott, AIA, NCARB, has a unique perspective on architectural design, because he is also a general contractor. By understanding the cost associated with building, Mr. Aydelott has a vast understanding of how to design his projects based on his client’s needs, style, and budget. Mr. Aydelott has accepted the AIA 2030 challenge, and is passionate about decreasing carbon footprints with his designs.
Aydelott Architecture is nothing new, it is the rebirth of a family legacy. In 1949, highly acclaimed architect Alford Lewis Aydelott started A.L. Architects and Associates in the heart of Memphis, Tennessee. His career started in 1936 with an architectural degree and his passion was primarily admiring traditional architecture in Savannah, Georgia. However, in 1940 his focus changed when he said, “I will never again approach the design of a building through the archives of ancient architecture.” From then on Alford L. Aydelott became a recognized modern architect known as the "Memphis Modernist."
